This is the traditional Five Day route. You will leave MSU with the 5
U.P. riders and the Quint Century riders on Wednesday. We’ll see all
of the important landmarks: the former VFW in Perrinton, the Lake
George Campground, Elk Rapids, Alden, the “Wall,” the “Tunnel of
Trees,” Goodhart and Cross Village.

The 4 Day East route will leave the MSU campus heading east through
the south side of Okemos. You’ll stay at Bullock Creek Middle School
on Thursday. You won’t go through Perrinton. You won’t see the
4-Day West riders until you get to Mackinaw City (unless you do the
optional Century on the last day.) Friday’s route takes you on the Pere
Marquette Trail from Midland to Loomis then north to your destination
at Houghton Lake High School. After Grayling, ride on to Gaylord
Middle School for Saturday night. On Sunday, you will ride through
scenic rolling countryside from Gaylord through the Indian River area
at Burt and Mullett Lakes to Pellston. The route then heads north to
Mackinaw City. The Century option will go through Boyne Falls and
Boyne City to Petoskey/Bay View, Harbor Springs and the “Tunnel of
Trees.”

The 4 Day West route will take you to Vestaburg High School on
Thursday. You’ll follow the same route as you have in the past until just
north of Perrinton. Watch for the left turn onto Grant. Friday’s overnight
is still at Lake City High School after riding through Farwell and Lake
George. Be sure to stop at the Lake of the Pines rest stop for lunch.
You’ll pass through Kalkaska and Alden and ride up the “Wall” on the
way to our overnight site at Boyne City High School on Saturday. The
last day takes you through Walloon Lake, Petoskey/Bay View, Harbor
Springs, the “Tunnel of Trees,” Goodhart and Cross Village.

The 5 U.P. route will leave MSU on Wednesday with the 5 Day and
Quint Century riders. It follows the same route until Shepherd, your
overnight site. Your Thursday overnight site will be at Lake City High
School. There is a fine lunch stop at the Lake George Campground. On
Friday, after riding through Kalkaska and Alden, you will camp at the
Central Lake High School. On your Saturday ride, you will encounter
the “5 Tears” then continue through East Jordan and Boyne City. There
are two options for Saturday. The short route will go north from Bay
View to Pellston Schools. The century option follows the “Tunnel of
Trees” through Goodhart to Cross Village. It then turns south to reconnect
with the short route. After a 17 mile ride on Sunday morning,
you cross the Mackinac Bridge. Your final day continues through St.
Ignace and past the casino on Mackinaw Trail. The route continues on
Mackinaw Trail to Sault Ste. Marie then to the high school. You will
ride past Rudyard and Kinross. There are food opportunities at both of
these towns. Sault Ste. Marie is the home of the famous Soo Locks.

The Quint Century route will overnight at Morley Stanwood on
Wednesday. After Westphalia, you will ride into Carson City, through
Lakeview and Morley to Morley Stanwood High School. On Thursday,
you will head west and cross the Hardy Dam over the Muskegon River.
After riding through Fremont, you head west and north to Scottville,
then to West Shore Community College. Friday’s route takes you to the
Lake Michigan shoreline through Ludington. Manistee, Bear Lake and
Frankfort are a few of the towns you will encounter. The final destination
is the Frankfort High School in Frankfort. The YMCA Camp will
be your overnight site on Saturday. You’ll ride through Benzonia then
turn southeast on the way to Interlochen. The rest of the day is similar
to previous years with “Puke Hill,” Kingsley, Acme and Elk Rapids on
the route. Sunday is your day to experience the “Wall” or not (there
is an alternate route). The towns of Central Lake, East Jordan, Boyne
City, Walloon Lake await you. Don’t forget the “Five Tears.” There
are also Petoskey/Bay View, Harbor Springs, the “Tunnel of Trees,”
Goodhart and Cross Village
